Ascent Technology has been recognised as a Level Three contributor, according to the Broad Based Black Economic Empowerment (BBBEE) Codes of Good Practice, as laid down by the Department of Trade and Industry. The company has also been listed on the National BBBEE Registry.
An improvement on last year’s Level Four rating, Ascent’s BBBEE certification indicates that it has met or exceeded the various scorecard elements which are taken into consideration, including management control, employment equity, skills development, and socio-economic development, amongst others.
“While achieving a Level Three certification is certainly rewarding, we believe it is just further evidence of our company’s strong focus on issues like skills development and corporate responsibility. These are the topics that are of vital importance to us moving forward, so we view this accreditation as a reflection of the work we have done and are continuing to do in this regard,” says Ascent MD Johan Lamberts.
